Welcome to Fort Walton Beach Golf!
Fort
Walton Beach and its neighboring areas have been highly praised
for their incredible golfing. With courses varying in challenge
from difficult water shots to changes in elevation there is a golf
course to test any level of golfer. Many of the Emerald Coast golf
courses offer oak-lined fairways and are reasonably priced. The
most difficult decision a golfer may face here is deciding which
course they want to challenge.
Bluewater
Bay
Given
"Four Stars" by Golf Digest's Places To Play 2000, Blue
Water Bay offers four courses designed by world-renowned golf architects
Tom Fazio and Jerry Pate. Each course has a unique layout to take
advantage of the terrain and natural surroundings. Bluewater Bay's
golfing experience is complemented by a fully-stocked pro shop.
Emerald
Bay
Designed by Bob Cupp, Emerald Bay consists of 6,802 yards of
greens and fairways. A par 72 layout, Emerald Bay boasts a championship
course believed by many to be one of Northwest Florida's very best.
Only steps from the first tee, the Guesthouse allows visitors to
play world class golf and relax in luxurious comfort.
Fort Walton
Beach Golf Club
Consisting of two 18-hole championship golf courses, Fort Walton
offers over 6,400 yards of narrow, oak-lined fairways and challenging
water hazards. In addition to daily play, the Club holds many community
oriented charity golf tournaments and promotes a Junior Golf Program
every summer.
Indian Bayou
Golf and Country Club
A Challenging, yet playable, assortment of nines, Indian Bayou
presents courses woven with gracious fairways and long, wide holes,
but punctuated with periodic "problems". The two courses,
Choctaw and Seminole are Earl Stone designed links and both feature
left and right doglegs and a combination of difficult par-3's.
Island Golf
Center
With nine Par-3's and nine holes of pitch and putt, the Island
Golf Center is perfect for perfecting techniques or just "putting"
around. Set between the Choctawhatchee Bay and Gulf, play is lit
from March to November and the center also sports 36 holes of miniature
golf.
Kelly Plantation
Recently acclaimed "The Crown Jewel of the Emerald Coast",
the golf course's beautiful fourth hole fairways are nestled along
the Southern Edge of Choctawhatchee Bay. Designed by Fred Couples
and Gene Bates the Plantation boasts a truly dramatic clubhouse
facility, comprehensive training and practice facilities, two putting
greens, and additional conveniences that complement this unequalled
golfing experience.
Regatta Bay Golf Club
Ranked one of the "Top 15" courses in Florida, Regatta
Bay offers a 6,829 yard, par 72, championship golf course. Designed
by Robert C. Walker, the course proves to be a challenge and provides
an extraordinary golfing experience for players of all levels. Regatta
Bay now features the most advanced Global Positioning System, (GPS),
offered by Parview System.
Sandestin
Golf Resort
A diverse range of golfing opportunities await you here at the
Sandestin Golf Resort. The four courses, Links, Baytowne, Raven,
and Burnt Pine, have each been crafted by different designers and
provide courses that vary from a "links course" to tricky
water shots, to varying bunker patterns. With its unique and entertaining
challenges, Sandestin is worth checking out.
Santa Rosa
Golf and Beach Club
Nestled between the sugar white beaches and thriving woodlands
that mark the Emerald Coast, Santa Rosa lays claim to eighteen challenging
holes of golf. Called "The Purest Golf on the Panhandle"
by Golf magazine, this course features the area's only Gulf of Mexico
fronting holes, a fully equipped Pro Shop, and an on-site restaurant.
Shalimar
Pointe Country Club
Shalimar Pointe has been awarded a place among the "Southeast's
Top 50 Development Courses." With bunkers that resemble dunes,
an 18-hole, Finger-Dye design golf course, and a spacious driving
range this club proves to be a challenging course for the weekend
and scratch golfer alike.
Shoal River
Country Club
With its 18-holes threading through, around, and above statuesque
forests of oak, magnolia, and pine, Shoal offers a veritable fortress
of nature. The course is heavy with continual elevation changes
and tight landing areas flanked by bunkers, grass depressions, and
various species of wild grass and demands accuracy.
